College basketball daily-11/26/18
Light schedule today as most of the big early-season tournaments came to a close this weekend. We do have the first couple of games from the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Here are some games to watch: (all times ET)
GAMES OF NATIONAL INTEREST:
1. Nebraska at Clemson (-3) (ACC/Big Ten Challenge) at 7 p.m. (ESPN2). Clemson slipped out of the polls after a loss to Creighton in an early-season tourney. Nebraska needs to rack up some quality wins in the non-conference or they could suffer a similar fate as last year (getting left out even with a good Big Ten record; note the Big Ten seems better this year though). I think the Cornhuskers pull the upset in a close one.
2. Minnesota at Boston College (-1) (ACC/Big Ten Challenge) at 9 p.m. (ESPN2). If the Big Ten wants to take the Challenge this year, they really should win at least one of these two games tonight on the road. Minnesota was surprisingly bad last year after much preseason hype. This year, so far, they have looked much better with a lot of players back from injuries and off-the-court issues. Boston College is coming off a good win over Loyola (IL), but did stumble against a mid-major already in the non-conference. Both teams need the win to get some credibility as NCAA tourney viable teams. I don't think Ky Bowman can do enough for BC, so I think the Gophers take it.
UPSET WATCH:
La. Tech at Delaware (+5) (Delaware Invitational) at 7 p.m. (CAA.tv/YouTube) ??
Wofford (+7.5) at S. Carolina at 7 p.m. (SEC+)
Murray St. (+8.5) at Alabama at 8 p.m. (SEC+)
Other games that could/should be fun to watch:
E. Michigan at TCU at 8 p.m. (FSN/FS SUN)
N. Dakota State at Gonzaga at 9 p.m. (ROOT/AT&T SN/TheW.tv)
N. Dakota State at Gonzaga at 9 p.m. (ROOT/AT&T SN/TheW.tv)
Things really pick up tomorrow but this is not a bad Monday lineup for still early in the season. Enjoy!
