College basketball daily-Friday, 11/16/18

A little late again today considering the day tournaments going on, but here are some games to watch: (all times ET)

GAMES OF NATIONAL INTEREST:

1. Syracuse vs. Oregon at 4:30 p.m. (2K Classic) (ESPN2). AP #15 Syracuse versus AP #13 Oregon meet in the third place game RIGHT NOW!! Both teams were upset yesterday to set up what was expected to be the title game in the consolation game instead. Both need this one to avoid any early season swoon and a drop from the polls.

2. Davidson vs. Purdue at 7 p.m. (Charleston Classic) (ESPNU). Davidson and AP #23 Purdue meet in the winner's bracket of the Charleston Classic looking to advance to the title game. This should be a high scoring game won by whomever's guards play better (both teams are strong at the position). I have to go with Purdue in this one due to Carsen Edwards but watch out for possible big games by Davidson guards Jon Axel Gudmundsson and Kellan Grady.

3. St. Francis (PA) at UCLA at 11 p.m. (Pac-12 Network). St. Francis pushed Buffalo on opening day. UCLA is still a bit of a wild card. This should be closer than expected but the Bruins should win.

UPSET WATCH:

La. Tech at LSU at 8 p.m. (SEC Network Plus)

UConn (+4.5) vs. Iowa at 7 p.m. (2K Classic) (ESPN2)

Vermont (+8) at Louisville at 7 p.m. (ACC Network/Watch ESPN)

Hofstra (+12.5) at Maryland at 7 p.m. (Big Ten Plus/Flo Hoops)

Other games that could/should be fun to watch:

Harvard at Rhode Island at 7 p.m. (ESPN+)

St. John's at Rutgers at 7 p.m. (BTN)

Loyola Marymount at Georgetown at 7 p.m. (Jamaica Classic) (CBS Sports Network)

UL-Lafayette at Kansas at 8 p.m. (ESPN+)

South Dakota St. at Florida Gulf Coast at 8 p.m. (ESPN+)

Ole Miss at Butler at 8 p.m. (FS2)

Western Kentucky at West Virginia at 9 p.m. (ESPNU)
