College basketball daily-11/14/18

Here are some games to watch for tonight: (all times ET)

GAMES OF NATIONAL INTEREST:

1. Michigan at Villanova (-7) (Gavitt Games) at 6:30 p.m. (FS1). The Gavitt Games, which pit the Big East vs. the Big 10, give us a rematch of the national title game from last year. It initially appears like both teams are not as good as they were last year, but it's a long season with a chance for both teams to grow into title contenders, especially with a couple of the best coaches in the country running their programs. I like Nova because they are home, and rarely lose there. I expect it to be tight though.

2. Marquette at Indiana (-5.5) (Gavitt Games) at 8:30 p.m. (FS1). Fox Sports 1 gets the rare doubleheader that overshadows what ESPN has to offer on any given night. These are two teams that a lot of prognosticators have making noise, and being "surprise teams" for this year. Indiana has freshman Romeo Langford while Marquette features Markus Howard. This should be fun and I again have to go with the home team in a really close one.

3. Seton Hall at Nebraska (-7.5) (Gavitt Games) at 7:30 p.m. (Big Ten Network). Nebraska looks to add a nice non-conference win against the Pirates, who lost a lot of good players off last year's team. This is as must-win as it gets for a November game. Seton Hall needs it to show they aren't slipping from last year that much, and the Huskers need it to avoid a similar bubble fate as last year. I like the Huskers going away in this one.

4. Eastern Michigan at Duke (-26) at 7 p.m. (ACC Network/FS FL/FS SUN/Watch ESPN). Duke was not only anointed #1 in the latest AP poll, but the "clear" favorite to win the title by many talking heads. Then came a less-than-dominating performance against Army. Eastern Michigan is decent and it should be interesting to see if Duke plays down to the competition or again looks like an unstoppable monster. Duke clearly should win, but I think they fail to cover and again show their youth in spots.

UPSET WATCH:

Radford (+12.5) at Notre Dame at 7 p.m. (ACC Network/Watch ESPN)

UTSA (+12.5) at Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. (FCS-Central/FS SW+/FS SE)

Niagara (+16.5) at Loyola (IL) at 8 p.m. (ESPN+)

Jacksonville St. (+6) at Bradley at 8 p.m. (ESPN+)

Washington St. at Seattle (+2.5) at 10 p.m. (WAC Network)

Other games that could/should be fun to watch:

Mount St. Mary's at Marshall (-21.5) at 7 p.m. (ESPN+) I like Marshall big in this game!!!

LaSalle at Florida at 7 p.m. (SEC plus/Watch ESPN)

Toledo at Wright State at 7 p.m. (ESPN+)

Boston U. at Albany at 7:30 p.m. (ESPN+)

UTEP at Arizona at 8 p.m. (Pac-12 Network)

North Dakota at Kentucky at 9 p.m. (SEC Network)

St. Mary's at New Mexico State at 9 p.m. (FCS-Pacific/Aggie Vision/Eleven Sports)

All in all, a pretty good night of hoops so early in the season. My first spread pick of the season is Marshall -21.5 hosting Mount St. Mary's. Don't let me down Thundering Herd!!
