11-7-19 College basketball games to watch

Here's my preview for today's games.

Headliner Games

None. Today is a dead spot for games of national relevance with most of those games being played this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. This seems on purpose to avoid conflict with the NFL Thursday night game, and the college Thursday night games since E$PN still has most of the top shelf CBB inventory.

Upset Watch Game

Seattle at Washington St. (-3) at 9 p.m. (Pac-12N)

Seattle is a pretty good WAC team, and Washington State is a not very good Pac-12 team. The Kyle Smith era starts as he comes to Wazzu from San Francisco after doing a nice job there. The Bennetts are the only coaches who have seen success at Wazzu. But the Pac-12 has been down, so “you’re saying there’s a chance …”

Mid-Major Games to Watch

Winthrop (-1) at Hartford at 7 p.m. (ESPN+) $$

Robert Morris at Marshall (-9 ½) (MABC Invitational) at 7 p.m. (CUSA.tv)

UAB (-6 ½) at Troy at 8 p.m. (ESPN+) $$

This is a good night to enjoy some solid mid-major games if you are a hoops nut like myself. I actually enjoy these nights because I don’t feel like I am missing out on the national games of interest, but I get to get some early intel on the mid-majors. Winthrop and Hartford does seem to be the most likely game to be close at the end, but RMU-Marshall could be a high scoring fun game to watch. UAB-Troy is a regional rivalry of sorts (okay, maybe not so much but I am trying to stir some stuff up here).

Other games worth a quick look

Presbyterian at Clemson (-18 ½) at 7 p.m. (ACCN)

Bryant at Rutgers (-20 ½) at 7 p.m. (BTN)

Kennesaw St. at Drake (-15) at 8 p.m. (ESPN+) $$

Idaho St. at Air Force (-14 ½) at 9 p.m. (MWN)

My guess is one of these games will be close despite all having double digit favorites hosting. Otherwise, go to bed early tonight because Friday’s action goes late and is pretty good on paper. Enjoy!
