11-19-19 College basketball Games to Watch

Headliner Games/Upset Watch (part one)

Vermont at #7 Virginia (-14 ½) (Air Force Tip-Off Campus Round Game) at 7 p.m. (FSN/ACCN Extra)

E. Tennessee St. at #4 Kansas (-15) (Maui on the Mainland game) at 8 p.m. (ESPN+) $$

No ranked vs. ranked headliners tonight but these two games feature two of the best mid-majors on the road at Top 10 teams. I don’t think either mid-major will pull off the upset, but I do think they will push both teams at least well into the second half. Anthony Lamb could catapult himself in the national spotlight if he leads Vermont to the huge upset. He’s a stud regardless, and should be fun to watch against UVa’s grinding defense. ETSU is a trendy pick as the best mid-major that could make it to the second week. They need a good showing at Rock Chalk to prove it.

Upset Watch Games (part two)

Bucknell at Penn St. (-15) (NIT Season Tip-Off campus game) at 6:30 p.m. (BTN)

UMBC at LSU (-17 ½) at 7 p.m. (SECN)

Boston U. at S. Carolina (-15 ½) (Cancun Challenge Preliminary Round game) at 7 p.m. (SECN+)

Furman at Alabama (-5) (Battle 4 Atlantis campus game) at 8 p.m. (SECN+)

Radford at Northwestern (-5 ½) (Fort Myers Tip-Off campus game) at 8 p.m. (BTN+) $$

Pepperdine at USC (-11 ½) at 9 p.m. (Pac-12N)

Watch out for Pepperdine tonight at USC. Lorenzo Romar seems to have the Waves playing well, and he’s used to taking teams into L.A. and winning when he was at Washington. Radford and Furman are also small underdogs that could easily win their games.

Other games to Watch

Nevada at Davidson at 7 p.m. (ESPN+) $$

Penn at Lafayette at 7 p.m. (PLN)

College of Charleston at Marshall at 7 p.m. (CUSA.tv)

So. Miss. at Iowa St. (Battle 4 Atlantis Campus game) at 8 p.m. (Cyclones.tv) $$

S. Illinois at Murray St. at 8 p.m. (ESPN+) $$

Houston at Rice at 8 p.m. (Facebook Watch)

UT Arlington at Gonzaga (Battle 4 Atlantis Mainland game) at 9 p.m. (Root/WCC Network)

Montana St. at Grand Canyon at 9 p.m. (ESPN3)

New Mexico at UTEP at 9 p.m. (CUSA.tv)

CS Bakersfield at San Francisco at 10 p.m. (WCC Network)

These are the “best of the rest” games. Davidson is off to a disappointing start but could help their cause with a home win over Nevada. Charleston let one slip away against Oklahoma State, and needs the road win at Marshall to not take a bad loss. UTEP could be for real; they beat Texas Tech (in an exhibition), and beat New Mexico State fairly easily. A home win over the Lobos would be a way to show continued progress. The other games could also provide some nail-biters. Enjoy!
