1-5-20 College Basketball Games to Watch
Here's a look at today's top match-ups.
Headliner Game
We get one game between ranked teams today and it is a good-looking rivalry game. The Spartans stumbled out of the blocks, while Michigan started off hot and have cooled off lately. Sparty needs this one more since it’s a home game for them, but talk of Michigan regressing to the mean will ramp up with another loss. Getting to watch Zavier Simpson go up against Cassius Winston should be a treat. I will take Sparty in a close one.
Upset Watch Games
VCU (-7) at George Mason (A-10) at noon (NBCSN)
Wright St. (-8 ½) at Detroit Mercy (Horizon) at 1 p.m. (ESPN+) $$
St. John’s at Xavier (-8) (Big East) at 4:30 p.m. (FOX)
Oregon St. at Colorado (-7 ½) (Pac-12) at 6 p.m. (ESPNU)
Northwestern at Minnesota (-9 ½) (Big Ten) at 7:30 p.m. (BTN)
USC at Washington (-5) (Pac-12) at 10 p.m. (FS1)
These six games could provide an upset (albeit all these teams are single-digit underdogs). George Mason and USC are the most obvious chances here to me.
Other Games to Watch
Richmond at Rhode Island (-2 ½) (A-10) at noon (ESPN+) $$
#20 Dayton (-16 ½) at St. Joseph’s (A-10) at 1 p.m. (ESPN+) $$
Davidson at Duquesne (-4) (A-10) at 2 p.m. (NBCSN)
St. Bonaventure (-4) at George Washington (A-10) at 4 p.m. (ESPN+) $$
Purdue at Illinois (-2 ½) (Big Ten) at 8 p.m. (FS1)
These five games have the potential to be very entertaining! These look like the kind that could wind up in overtime (or multiple OTs), except for the Dayton game. I put the Dayton game on this list because Obi Toppin and the Flyers are just generally fun to watch. Enjoy!
